Reach4 is seeking to recruit an experienced and innovative Head of Estates to provide strategic and operational leadership and management of all premises and sites across Reach4 Academy Trust.
This senior position within the Reach4 central team will play a crucial role in the Trust by leading the overall Estates function, providing excellent estates and facilities management advice centrally and at academy level, supporting the delivery of large capital projects, building collaborative working relationships with Principals, and using their estates expertise to support delivery of the highest standard of education for all children in our schools.
About the Role
As leader of the Estates function, and a senior member of the Reach4 Operations team, the purpose of this role is to develop and maintain effective site services, as well as liaison with senior managers in order to deliver an efficient and effective EFM service to support curriculum and learners.
The Head of Estates will be be responsible for oversight of property, security, cleaning, building services functions and day to day provision, including strategic leadership of major academy capital projects.
The Head of Estates will also lead on Academies buildings compliance and capital works programme, and take lead responsibility for prioritisation and allocation of the Trust’s School Condition Allowance from the Education Funding Agency.
Overall it’s key that this role works collaboratively with other central functions, in particular Finance, Projects and School Improvement, so that Estates support for schools is fully joined-up at all times.
About You
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Proven experience working within a facilities management or estates environment, including experience of working at management level
- Knowledge and experience of key estates and facilities management challenges facing academies and multi-academy trusts
- High level of knowledge of Health & Safety issues in the workplace
- Experience of managing diverse staff and contractors
- Facilities Management degree or equivalent
- Technical knowledge of building fabric and electrical/mechanical systems, plant and controls
