Byron Wood Academy is seeking to appoint a dynamic, highly motivated individual, who will be proactive in moving the school forward in terms of whole school inclusion. You need to be a conscientious and effective Assistant Headteacher who will positively and actively contribute to whole school improvement through effective leadership, management and co-ordination of provisions in school. Across the school, there are approximately 463 pupils. The work is challenging but also extremely rewarding. The successful candidate will receive a managed induction process into the post.
The person appointed will have high expectations, determination and ambition and strive to assist the school leadership on its journey towards becoming a good and outstanding school.
The successful candidate will:-
- Lead on Inclusion throughout school (Behaviour, Attendance, SEND, CP)
- Have a SEND qualification, or working towards a qualification
- Be an excellent classroom teacher – minimum 6 years
- Have a minimum 2 years in Leadership (phase/middle/senior)
- Be able to communicate, motivate and inspire staff teams
- Be able to demonstrate an awareness of, and an interest in, working in a multi-cultural school
- Have a strong commitment to the school and the ambition to develop their role
- Be committed to an inclusive philosophy of education
- Have a desire to play an active part in the strategic development of the school and to use their own skills, talents and interests for the benefit of children
- Be committed to change and improvement
- Work at both strategic and operational level
- Develop excellent relationships with pupils, parents and Governors
