Chris Melia


Chris Melia is a Partner Director at AMION, a financial and economics consultancy practice, where she leads the Visitor and Leisure team, specialising in cultural, arts, heritage, tourism and leisure projects. She has been a consultant for over nine years during which time she has worked on a wide range of business plans, organisational development strategies, feasibility studies, market assessment studies and tourism strategies in the UK and internationally.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Chris worked for many years at senior level in culture, heritage and tourism for various organisations across the UK. She was the Managing Director of Magna Trust, a science centre and events venue in a former steel works in Rotherham for five years. She was also a Director or Tourism South East and the Chair of the South Yorkshire DMP. Previous roles included the Deputy Centre Director for Gunwharf Quays, Marketing Director for Our Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh and Marketing Director for the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. She has sat on various boards including Magna Trust, the Centre for Excellence for New Technologies in Rotherham and the Kent Tourism Alliance.

Nick Cragg


A graduate in engineering from Lougborough University, Nick spent over 25 years in the steel industry with a career progressing through to a number of business leadership positions in the UK and subsidiary board appointments overseas.

On leaving the steel industry at the end of 2006, Nick formed his own consultancy company and worked mainly in North America for the oil & gas sector on business improvement and interim management projects. He later joined his main client, Wellstream International, a UK based manufacturer of flexible subsea flowlines and risers, as Vice President, Operations. After the Company was acquired by GE Oil & Gas in 2011, he ultimately became Global Sourcing & Capex Director, working between the UK and Brazil.

Nick left GE in late 2013 to re-start his consultancy company where he still undertakes interesting assignments whilst making time to pursue other interests. He is a member of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire and a keen rugby supporter but his annual indulgence is skiing.

Nick lives in Monmouthshire and is married with three grown up children.

Ranjit Das


Ranjit has 25 years’ experience in industry – of which 10 were spent in GE. He is a seasoned professional in people development with global organisations. He has a degree in Chemistry, an MBA and a post-graduate diploma in HRM & Training.

His previous consultancy projects include designing and running cultural integration programs for staff of GE-acquired companies; designing & delivering development centres; delivering core leadership skills programs; devising and implementing a global high potential program for GE using project based learning; designing and delivering a Sales Coaching program for GE; training 200 sales leaders around the world; rolling out GE’s innovation program – Fastworks – to over 1000 leaders; and 1-to-1 coaching of executives in GE.

Ranjit has spent the last two years in GE as a Master trainer and Coach rolling out the successful ‘Fastworks’ program. He trained over 1,000 Product Managers and Engineers on the Lean Startup principles before become an established independent Lean Startup Coach, supporting other companies successfully bringing new products to market.
